Restore’s Egyptian Arabic course is developed from the Growing Participator Approach (GPA) and aims to help our students advance from outside observers to inside navigators of Egyptian culture. Unlike traditional GPA, our program also spends time explaining grammar concepts and teaching reading and writing. What results is a unique hybrid program that helps learners understand all facets of the language and culture.
Our Arabic language instructors are more than just teachers. They are guides to help foreigners moving to or living in Egypt succeed in becoming fully-functioning, ‘growing participators’ in the Egyptian culture. The first step is learning how to speak the language of the surrounding population, but language fluency isn’t simply knowing the Arabic equivalent of English words. Fluency requires understanding the nuances and emotions inherent within the words. To obtain this kind of fluency, one must live life alongside and among the people of the host culture and progress from being seen as “one of them” to being seen as “one of us.” So come give our Egyptian Arabic course a try!
